Crest 3D white Sample Pack

Crest 3D white sample kit exceeded my expectations. I have been using whitening toothpaste for years and never really noticed much change. My teeth have always been a more pearly white and a bright white, and I’ve always wanted whiter teeth but couldn’t afford a dentist office whitening and was afraid to waste money on over the counter products that may or may not work. I also have sensitive teeth and was worried about how my mouth would react. After trying the products for a few days all my worries are gone.

I took a before and after photo and was surprised that after just 1 whitening strip I noticed a change. I did not have any tooth sensitivity with the strips or toothpaste. The kit includes one set of strips ( a top and bottom), floss, and a 2.5 oz. tube of toothpaste. Crest 3D white has a great mint flavor and still has cavity fighting fluoride. Crest offers a money back guarantee so if you are not happy, they will refund your money to a pre-paid card, but I think that this toothpaste works so well that you won’t need to worry about it. Crest 3D white claims to remove up to 80% of surface stains, which is wonderful for this coffee drinker. I will continue to buy and use this toothpaste

top left is before, top right, with stripes on, bottom left 1 hr. later right before taking the strips off. bottom right is after taking the strips and brushing once with Crest 3D white toothpaste.

Strips were easy to apply and stayed put but did have a weird gooey feeling, but nothing too uncomfortable. It left a gooey paste behind which is why I had to brush my teeth before taking the photo. I never felt any sensitivity or pain. I don’t know that you can tell a huge difference in the photo, but in person I thought it was very noticeable.  I would love to use these more often! The toothpaste worked well too, but since I used the strip first there was no huge change in color, I will continue to use the toothpaste and post an update in a week or so.

Viva Naturals Castor Oil

Viva Naturals castor oil has a ton of useful purposes. A lot I didn’t even realized until I started researching it online. From cosmetics and soaps to putting women into labor. (Not that its recommended, but I read that it works. One use I found particularly surprising is that it can be used to treat acne

Specifically, it’s good for cystic  acne and hormonal acne, which I tend to get around my chin/neck area. I was very leary about putting an oil on my face since it goes against everything you learn as a teenager, but as a 30 something year old who still is bothered by acne, I felt it was worth a try. I have been using it for several days now and have seen some slight improvement, but it may be too early to really tell. I also love using thus on my fingernails and cuticles. It really moisturizes and softens the skin and made my nails looks and feel great. I can’t wait to try it more and more ways. There are literally 100 or more ways to use this moisturizing oil on your hair, skin and nails. I did find it to be very sticky, so you may want to use it at night.

I don’t know that I will be ingesting it, but it is food grade, hexane free, and odor and tastless. Also read that it is a good laxative, but ill let you test that for yourself. 🙂 So if you find a great use for ingesting it, it is safe to do so.

The bottle I received from Viva Naturals is 16 fl. oz. The cap was broken, but I think that is due to my mailman tossing it at my door. (Not cool mailman!)

Overall, I am very happy to have tried this product and will be sure to share more upcoming results as I try it in different ways.

Generation Good- Seventh Generation Healthy Baby Home Party

Seventh Generation has a part of their site called Generation Good. (https://generationgood.socialmedialink.com/) From this, I was selected to host a Healthy Baby Home Party. I received a box with a whole slew of wonderful products and samples. Some of the great items were a full size pack of Seventh Generation diapers and wipes, dish soap, sample size laundry detergent, wild flower seeds, Zarbee cough medicine and sample packs of Seventh Generation wipes. I got to make goodie bags for all my guests with the samples and information about why its so important to know what is in the products you use.

At my party we discussed how to manage pests in your garden (which is why everyone got flower seeds), how to improve indoor air quality, which produce is best to buy organic and of course how awesome Seventh Generation products are because they are natural, and work pretty great too!

We talked about how as of now, companies are not required to list all of their ingredients (I had no idea!!) because there are no regulations requiring them to do so.  We talked about the hasgtag #comeclean urging companies to fully disclose what is in their products so we can make informed decisions about what to use. I will admit that I am just starting to try to go more “green” consciously buying more natural, and organic foods, cleaning supplies, etc. and I don’t know a whole lot about it, so the information I received from Seventh Generation was eye opening.

Once the serious stuff was over we played an super fun Seventh Generation Bingo game where each item that was called out had a healthy home tip on it. For example: Health Home tip #15 talks about swapping out the “dirty dozen” foods that contain the most pesticides for organic options. And since I know you are dying to know what they are I will list them for you.  Apples, celery, bell pepper, peaches, strawberries, nectarines, lettuce, grapes, spinach, cucumbers, blueberries and potatoes. Who knew?! and of course always wash your fruits and veggies before eating.

Seventh Generation thought of everything, even sending a Bobble water bottle which I used for my bingo winner prize. Its an awesome water bottle with a charcoal filter for super clean, awesome tasting water.

I think everyone at the party had a really great time and learned a lot about the importance of knowing what is in our products. I know I learned a ton, and am thankful that brands list Seventh Generation are being honest and providing us with great product choices.

Kinzd magnetic money clip

This Kinzd brand magnetic money clip for men has some pros and cons. I like that it is made of a soft genuine leather. It is very thin, but can hold quite of bit. about 3-4 credit cards plus an ID, several dollar bills, etc. The magnet is very strong so unless you just put a ton of stuff between the wallet and clip it will securely hold money put in it. I like that the ID can be clearly seen so you don’t have to pull it in and out of the wallet. It is RFID blocking, so your cards are safe.
Some cons are that the magnet is very strong and could mess up some credit cards, hotel key cards, etc. and I would worry about having that strong of a magnet in a pocket or purse near a cell phone as well. It is well made and great if you are looking for a wallet that will not take up much space, but my husband said he would be worried that the magnet would be a major problem.

I liked that it was really thin and wouldn’t make a pocket bulge like thicker wallets, it had a lot of room to store cards and money and seems to be well made.

Viva Shea Butter

Viva Naturals Organic Shea Butter is amazing! It is organic and USDA certified. There are sooo many ways to use this product. I started by using it on dry parts of my legs and arms after showering, I applied a small (about dime size) amount to my elbows and knees and instantly they felt more moisturized and smooth. I went ahead and applied it all over my legs since they get really dry and it felt amazing. My legs were smoother and more soft than ever. This is perfect to apply after shaving. I also applied it to my lips like a lip gloss and it worked wonders. The Shea butter does not leave you feeling sticky or oily. I have even used it on the ends of my hair that get very dry and frizzy. I would not recommend putting this all over your hair unless you have very dry hair because it will make your hair very oily is applied near the roots. The shea butter is smooth and easy to apply, it doesn’t get hard or clumpy. Perfect for anywhere you get dry skin,it also makes a great cuticle cream for your hands! I would recommend this to anyone looking to cure dry skin and will purchase again in the future.

This was a 4oz. jar and I have used it so many times already but there is still a lot left. I little goes a long way but I keep thinking of so many more uses for this that next time I may have to get a bigger jar!

Shout out to a new (new to me anyway) site that I love and where I found this great deal. Snagshout.com, you can get free or discounted items in exchange for your Amazon review. Pretty cool! This was the first product I got from them so I am still figuring it all out but already got this free so its looking good!

XTRA laundry detergent

I received a 45oz. bottle of XTRA laundry detergent in a Tropical Passion scent. My first impression was that it was an awful small bottle to claim to do 30 loads of laundry, so over the last month (give or take a few days since I do about a load of laundry a day) I kept count of how many loads I did and when the bottle ran out. I did exactly 27 loads of laundry, which is pretty close, and I probably over poured a few times, so its pretty accurate in my opinion.

I really liked the Tropical Passion scent, although I would usually pick a more traditional clean cotton type scent, this scent was light and summery and was noticeable even a day or so after washing when I went to put on clothes I had washed with it.  I wish there was a scratch n sniff button to share the topical scent with you!!

The ingredients were not listed on the bottle, but it does state that it contains no phosphates or enzymes and is safe for all temperatures and HE washing machines. The cap provides bars on where to fill it up for medium or large loads, so no guessing if you put enough in.

XTRA can be purchased at most large discount stores, drug stores and grocery stores, and it a great inexpensive laundry detergent.

WoodWick Candles

WoodWick Candles are a unique candle in that they make a crackling noise as they burn, similar to a wood fire burning. This is achieved by using an organic wood wick. I received a petite size (just a little bigger than a tealight candle) of the fireside fragrance and the best way I can describe it is a wood fireplace at Christmas time. It has a really rich amber and musk, smoky smell.

Upon lighting the candle I started to hear the crackling sounds after a few seconds, and I couldn’t help but think of my family using their fireplace at Christmas time. It must have only been used at Christmas because that is what I always associate that smell with.

They have a huge collection of scents and sizes and types of candles, wax, oil, etc. The fireside is a scent I really like for fall/winter and I would buy it again for sure. I think it would be a great gift for a man or woman since it has a scent I think men would like as well.

So I have to explain this picture, I got a little excited when opening my candle I received in the mail and ended up ripping the paper that came with it, but this really shows my excitement level, haha.  If you go to www.shareascent.com that have opportunities to send this sample size candle to a friend. I recommend doing what I did and I told my friend about this and I sent one to her and she sent one to me. Its using the buddy system, right?

Premier Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar

Premier Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar-

I was not really expecting to like this. I have tried several protein bars before and just hated the bland taste and there was always too many carbs or sugar to make it worth eating something that I really didn’t like the taste of.  So one morning I decided to try the sample bar I had received in the chocolate peanut butter flavor. ( They also have a variety of other flavors including: dark chocolate mint, double chocolate crunch, peanut butter crunch, white fudge raspberry and yogurt peanut crunch) I was in love by the first bite..I almost felt guilty because I felt like I was eating a candy bar for breakfast. It wasn’t quite as sweet as say a Reese’s cup, but sweet enough not to have a bitter taste. This bar taste great with a cup of coffee too 🙂

With 30g of protein, I felt so full after eating this. By lunch I am usually starving and I wasn’t even really that hungry so I ate a light salad and was still feeling pretty full, and had energy which usually seems to drop off after lunch. So much so that I felt like going on an extra long walk and got in a lot of extra steps today. It didn’t make me feel jittery or anything, just energized.

This protein bar is great for anyone- busy moms, athletes, runners, or anyone trying to add more protein and fiber into their diets. It is also gluten free so no worries if you have a gluten allergy or are just trying to avoid it. It does however, contain soy, milk and peanuts.

Want to buy it? You can find out what stores near you sell it by going to www.premierprotein.com I found that on average (in my area)  a box of 6 bars is about $10.00

Nickleodeon Crashletes

“Crashletes™ is a brand new series from producer Rob Dyrdek that is hosted by everyone’s favorite big kid, Rob Gronkowski. Crashletes™ premieres on July 5 at 7 pm EST and features 40-50 epic fails per episode. So kids from tall to small will get to enjoy all the fails they love with Gronk and his hilarious co-hosts.”  (this info is from the houseparty.com web site)

Nickelodeon Crashletes was so much fun to watch. Not only did the kids love it but the adults were laughing and getting into it too. My kids loved seeing all the hilarious fails and love sports so this is a fusion of 2 of their favorite things. My son thought the kid hitting his head on the slide was hilarious. He said that was his favorite. They love seeing the superstar hosts and loved the party favor posters, socks, shirt and footballs. They wanted to invited everyone they knew over to watch it with them. I love that it’s on Nickelodeon so I know that the language and graphics are appropriate and on kid-level. My kids love watching it on TV and online, they are 10 and 13 but I think younger and older kids would love it too, it’s so silly and totally fits my boy’s sense of humor.

I got to review this show because of a house party I applied and was chosen for. In our house party kit was the Crashletes DVD, a t-shirt, socks with funny foam fingers on them, mini soft footballs and 2 types of Crashletes posters. My boys loved all the goodies and shared the footballs with their party guests. Everyone laughed, ate, played and had a great time! My kids love this show and can’t wait to watch each new episode.

Battle Balloons

If you have ever spent hours filling and tying up water balloons only to see them all thrown and gone in about 10 seconds, you will love this product. We filled up the 120 water balloons in under a minute and that included the time twisting them on and off the water spout. It came in 3 bundles of 40 balloons each. This particular set is set up as a “battle” so it was a set of red, a set of blue and a set of green. I have seen ones where they are random colors as well. We had pretty good success in the water balloons filling up…I’d say of the 140, maybe 4 popped before they completely filled up. Pretty good since I cannot tell you how many I have individually filled and had them pop on me.

The water balloons just slide right off the little straws once they get full enough or you can give them a little shake if you want them to come off sooner. You may be able to tell from the photo that the red balloons are a little fuller than the blue. I let the red stay on the straws until they popped off on their own and we pulled off the blue ones just to see the difference. Really either way you go about it works fine. The smaller they are the harder it is to get them to pop obviously. I also recommend finding a tote or small laundry basket to store them in so they don’t go rolling around or popping on the ground.

I have seen these balloon sets from about 9-15 dollars depending on where you buy them. I lucked out and found a display of these at my local Kroger on sale for $4.99, the cheapest I have ever found them, so I had to grab them to try. While they are more expensive than the individual ones you can usually pick up for a buck or two, if you are usually the designated water balloon filler as I am, you will completely see the value in this product.

Now, I won’t lie to you and tell you this entertained the 5 boys at my house all day. This “battle” was approximately 5 minutes, but they loved every second of those 5 minutes.
